Since our Annual Spring Picnic and Cache Awards Presentation had to be cancelled due to Virginia COVID-19 restrictions, NoVAGO wanted to do something special to announce the award winners online. Cache Across Northern Virginia Series & Coin

NoVAGO is offering up the chance to see some of the more unusual sites in the area over the course of the next few months while working towards a Cache Across Northern Virginia coin.  The first cache can be found at Paxton Manor near Leesburg, VA. Details: The cost of the coin is $15.  As part of this 2020 NoVAGO series, you can earn $.50 off the cost of a ‘Cache Across Northern Virginia’ coin for each cache you find. Take note of the code provided in each as proof. To claim your coin you will need to send a list including the cache name with the date found and the associated code word to: officers@novago.org. Cache nominations and awards are a chance for you to recognize the efforts of fellow NoVAGO cachers who have placed hides that you have enjoyed. Please consider sending in nominations, we need your input 🙏 This year, we’re starting early. From now until (date to be announced) we will be taking nominations for the categories below (see this post for a description of categories). After the nomination period ends, the list of nominated caches and cachers will be consolidated into a ballot and be voted on by all NoVAGO members. Caching the Capital Region and Beyond Adventure Lab

Since 2006 the Northern Virginia Geocaching Organization has had “Caching the Capital Region and Beyond” in our crest. NoVAGO was recently awarded 10 new Adventure Labs and has opted to place them around the District of Columbia. With this latest Adventure Lab we strive to take cachers into the District to show off a few things they may have missed during past visits. During a test run of these we found that grabbing most of these easily done by those red DC Bikeshare bicycles.  None of these 10 labs require admission fees, security check points, or to go inside any buildings.  Only three of these are not available 24/7 and you can find those posted hours on the lab pages. NoVAGO want’s our community to cache with confidence and has permission for all virtual placements.
