As witnessed by Nothereeither: For those of you who had more important things to do today, here’s recap of the “SURVIVOR18: Eating Challenge.” It was loosely officiated by ZippyFin and pfenix. The challenge started out with QUE3NBE3, SP4FUN, TheUnstealthy Monkey, freddiecrs, Nothereeither (actually my proxy did it for me in exchange for screen time), Serrabou, Cache Clown 76, and Awesnap participating. The menu included: First course: Molded Jell-O Spaghettios with wasabi peas Second course: Mexican pickled sausage Third course: Fermented bean curd (also known as fermented tofu) Fourth course: 皮蛋 (Century egg) Fifth course: Korean Silkworm Pupa Sixth course: Garden Cream Wafers Durian Flavour Wafer Seventh course: Surströmming Eighth course: Zophobas morio (live superworms; reptile food that bites back) All of the contestants made all the way through, except my proxy (oh well no additional screen time) CC76 made a $5 donation to NoVAGO to buy immunity from one round. … Continue reading →

Join NoVAGO for a Screening of the 2018 Geocaching Film Festival GIFFS

This year NoVAGO is holding it’s Geocaching Film Festival event in Manassas, VA.  Join us at the Bull Run Public Library as we watch this years round of geocaching films.  This year filmmakers were asked to film a great story about the game we love and send it to us. The deadline for film submissions has now passed and Geocaching HQ is reviewing and judging films during the month of August.  Folks who attend earn the 2018 GIFF Souvenir! NoVAGO’s 4th Annual Hauntingly Familiar Fall Event

Summer has passed and fall is on the way. Come and help us celebrate the turning of the seasons by attending NoVAGO’s last major event of 2018. Be sure to log your “will-attend” as early as possible to ensure that we have enough food for the masses.  Attendees are encouraged to bring your favorite pot luck dish, all we ask is that you list what you are bringing in your “will attend” log so that others won’t bring in a similar dish.  As with all of our picnics NoVAGO will be supplying the charcoal, hamburgers, hot dogs, plates, and condiments. It’s a tie! 

Congratulations to both Zippy Finn and Serrabou! We also offer a big thank you to everybody who participated in the July 2018 photo of the month contest.  ZippyFinn’s photo was taken at Devil’s Bathtub on a visit to Virginia’s Jefferson National Forest. Serrabou ‘s photo was taken on the Patuxent River during his early morning FTF search of Songs of the South.
