NWF Geocaching Event Saturday May 15th in Reston

The NWF (National Wildlife Federation) is embarking on a Geocaching Program.  The pilot program will be held on Saturday, May the 15th 2010 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.,  at the Walker Nature Education Center,  11450 Glade Drive Reston, VA.  A topic outlining this program is currently active in the NoVAGO Events Forum – just click on the blue title bar for this post to goto that topic.  The program is designed to get children and families back to the outdoors by incorporating geocaching as a recreational activity (shades of The National Forum on Children & Nature, eh?).  Of course, they’d like some help from the experts….you!!  The event will be listed on Geocaching.com, and I believe there will be new geocaches listed as well.  Please go to the forum topic, take a look at the schedule, and see if you can’t spare a little time to promote the pastime … Continue reading

Geocaching turns 10 years old on the weekend of May 1st & 2nd…come celebrate the occasion with your fellow cache nuts geocaching friends.  The “10 Years!!! “NoVAGO Celebrates the Spring” Event (GC24H5G)

On 10 April 2010 NoVAGO will celebrate Spring in Lake Accotink Park.  This will be a 2 part event starting with a CITO at 9AM, followed by a potluck social at 11AM.  Everyone is welcome, NoVAGO members and non-members, old timers, and newcomers alike….come on out for some community service, followed by a great get together featuring good food, good people, and good times.  The NoVAGO “Seasonal Events” are the highlight of the organization’s calendar year, and that good time mentioned earlier is guaranteed.  Just click on the blue title bar above for the cache page.

NoVAGO’s “Summertime and the Livin’s Easy” Event GC1WB4R
