2016 NoVAGO Geocache Award Nominations Open

By: Serrabou

Each year NoVAGO honors some of the best caches that were placed in Northern Virginia. Cache nominations and awards are a chance for you to recognize the efforts of fellow NoVAGO cachers who have placed hides that you have enjoyed. Please consider sending in nominations, we need your input :smt100!

From now and until the middle of February, we will be taking nominations for the categories below (see following post in this thread for a description of categories). After the nomination period ends, the list of nominated caches and cachers will be consolidated into a ballot. Once the ballot is announced, there will be several weeks for you to get out there and hunt the nominated caches before voting. Finally, the ballot will be voted on by all NoVAGO members. That’s right, even if you didn’t submit nominations, you are encouraged to come vote. Winners will be announced at NoVAGO’s Spring Event (date TBD).

For those of you that have followed the awards in past years, please note there are a few changes to the categories: two new categories have been added: Best Earthcache and the return of Cacher of the Year. Consequently, the Best Other category has had the earthcache type removed.

There will be a “challenge” cache associated with the list of yearly nominees. Here is a bookmark list of past bonus caches.

Email your suggestions to the following address: 2016awards@novago.org. Please include your NoVAGO username with your nominations. Alternatively, you can use  THIS FORM to enter nominations.
