On May 6, 2018 NoVAGO invites to you lend a hand, picnic with friends, and celebrate the 2017 NoVAGO Cache Awards in Arlington! At 9 a.m. we will kick off the day with a CITO at Glencarlyn Park where we will be cleaning up portion of trails along Four Mile Run in Arlington.  Located just over a mile from our picnic shelter this CITO is a nice walk or a quick bike ride up a paved path from our picnic location. Northern Virginia Has 17 Events Dropped On the Area for the 2018 Planetary Pursuit Promotion

Northern Virginia has gone “event crazy” for the upcoming Groundspeak promotion “Planetary Pursuit.” Geocaching’s Official Blog describes this promotion as “The year is 2650. You are invited to join the Geocaching Explorers Club and be among the first geocachers to visit every planet in our solar system, earning souvenirs along the way. Find different geocache types to individually collect points on the Friend League between March 19 and April 8 and earn up to 10 new souvenirs to become an Official Space Explorer.” Attention space explorers! NoVAGO’s Winter CITO is Upon Us

Join us February 25th, 2018 for NoVAGO’s Winter CITO as we help clean up the area around the Jerome “Buddie” Ford Nature Center.   This City of Alexandria nature center is located on a 50-acre park nestled along the Holmes Run Stream.  This center provides year-round programs, interactive exhibits, as well as taking care of over 30 live animals. This event is being organized in coordination with Nature Center staff, and is designed to assist them in keeping this area clean and beautiful. First Class of 2018 Kicks Off NoVAGO’s New Direction of Hosting Educational Events

On Saturday February 3, 2018 thirty geocachers piled into a classroom for Awesnap’s Planning a Geocaching Road Trip Class. Our new President, platoaddict , want’s 2018 to be the year NoVAGO host’s more educational events.  On the horizon there are plans to host classes on a variety of subjects including GSAK, puzzle solving,, earthcaching 101, and a basic cache page creation class. OptOutside with NoVAGO and Burke Lake Park

Burke Lake Park has reached out to NoVAGO to lend a hand with their annual Geocaching Scavenger Hunt on the day after Thanksgiving. This one-day event, in conjunction with REI, Inc.’s Black Friday #OptOutside promotion, and it will be held from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Friday, November 24, 2017.   For this event only, special caches are placed around the lake. Hauntingly Familiar Fall Event Was a Spooktacular Success

  The last big event of 2017 is over.  The weather was a perfect 70 degrees, the food was plentiful, and plenty of smiles filled the pavilion. Other than the swarm of uninvited yellow jackets everything else was about perfect. NoVAGO’s 3rd Annual Hauntingly Familiar Fall Event

Summer has passed and fall is on the way.
