Northern Virginia Geocaching Organization (NoVAGO) is hosting the 2025 Spring Picnic & Cache Awards (GCAXFZX), a Community Celebration Event.

Join us in celebration! Whether you’re new to caching or have found thousands of caches, everyone is welcome to our event. We encourage participation regardless of experience level. This is one of the two annual picnic events that NoVAGO Hosts. At this event we acknowledge the best caches and cachers of 2024 with awards – for more information: 2024 Nominations Open.
Activities
Cachers: You’ll have the chance to discover new caches in Northern Virginia (and elsewhere), catch up on the latest in the caching community, and meet new caching friends. It’s the perfect opportunity to share experiences and have a great time!
Unique event type: A Community Celebration is a limited release event type to celebrate 25 years of geocaching. It counts as unique event type in your statistics.
New caches: There will be new caches placed in the park.
Food: NoVAGO will provide the hot dogs, hamburgers and attendees provide the sides. Please log your will attends on the event page. As we get closer to the event, we request you post a note of what dish you plan to bring.
Volunteers Needed
Hiders: We need cachers to hide caches in the park and it would be helpful to have someone coordinate the placement.
Photographer: A photographer is needed to capture the award presentation and the fun camaraderie during the event.
Setup and Cleanup: It is helpful to have additional folks available to setup and clean up. The board members will be setting up for the awards ceremony and other activities.
Grill Masters: They up and heat up the grill at the start and someone to cook hot dogs and hamburgers.
