Mark your calendars!   NoVAGO is heading west this July for a super summer weekend!   Make plans now to join us on July 26 for our annual summer picnic.  This year we’ll be heading to Sherando Park, a lovely 330-acre jewel in Frederick County near Winchester, VA.  The park offers a variety of attractions including hiking trails, mountain biking, a fishing lake, playgrounds, and of course, caches!  We will gather for a picnic potluck, have some games and enjoy a summer day socializing, caching and having a great time! Get ready for a great geocaching weekend!  On April 26 and 27, NoVAGO invites to you lend a hand, picnic with friends and also celebrate the 2013 NoVAGO cache awards! The weekend kicks off with the Neabsco Road CITO.  From 9 a.m. until noon, we will be helping clean up a portion of Neabsco Rd. near Woodbridge.   Since this weekend is Groundspeak’s 2014 CITO Weekend, everyone who logs an “attended” at a Cache In, Trash Out event earns a CITO souvenir for their Geocaching profile.  As this area is right outside Leesylvania State Park, our host for Sunday’s picnic, … Continue reading →

NoVAGO’s 2013 Cache Award Nominations Period is Open Until March 15th

You have until March 15th to submit your nominations for the best caches placed in the NoVAGO area during 2013. The NoVAGO forums have more informations about the Nominations guidelines, including lists of eligible caches. This year you have two options for submitting nominations, either by e-mail or via Google Docs. Due to the weather conditions that much of our region has been experiencing this weekend, the Thanks! event scheduled for January 5 will be moved to next Sunday, January 12th from 4-6 pm.   We hope everyone can come and join us as we thank all those who helped out NoVAGO in 2013! The elections for NoVAGO’s 2014 Officers are open. Votes may be cast from December 1st through December 31st.  Please take a few minutes and cast your ballot. November sees opening of the nomination process for the 2014 Officers. During the month, anyone interested in running for an office is welcome to post their intent in the NoVAGO forums.
