And the 2020 Cache Awards Winners are…

After having to skip our annual event last year due to COVID-19, on May 8, 2021 NoVAGO members flocked to Saturday’s NoVAGO’s 2021 Spring Picnic and Awards Event in Purceville, VA. Held in the Hillsboro Pavilion. The winds were whipping, so throughout the day it was common to see bug gust blow away Icebreaker sheets, plates, donuts, and hamburger buns.  Folks opted to stand in the sun for warmth, but than rushed back under the pavilion to shelter from the snow flurries and rain that popped up near the end. Many thanks to the dedicated geocachers who participated setting up our annual picnic festivities, and those who stayed to clean up afterwards.  We had over 30 names signed on today’s picnic log, but folks remembered to social distance and not crowd in.  Also a special shout out to grill master DePhogration who again kept the flames hot, and kept the … Continue reading

😎 👏 NoVAGO’s 2019 Geocache Awards 👾 🥰 Each year NoVAGO honors some of the best caches that were placed in Northern Virginia. Cache nominations and awards are a chance for you to recognize the efforts of fellow NoVAGO cachers who have placed hides that you have enjoyed. Please consider sending in nominations, we need your input 🙏 This year, we’re starting early. From now until (date to be announced) we will be taking nominations for the categories below (see this post for a description of categories). After the nomination period ends, the list of nominated caches and cachers will be consolidated into a ballot and be voted on by all NoVAGO members. And the 2018 Cache Awards Winners are…

  Despite the rain many NoVAGO members flocked to Sundays Yo Momma Says Clean Up Moore CITO at Claude Moore Park and NoVAGO 2019 Evento de Primavera del Cinco de Mayo Spring event and 2018 Awards Ceremony. Many thanks to the dedicated geocachers who showed up in rain gear to slosh around the park cleaning and to everyone who participated in our annual picnic festivities.  We had 50 names signed on today’s picnic log, but I guarantee there was more than that number of folks crowded under that little pavilion.  Also a special shout out to grill master DePhogration who battled the soggy downpours by fabricating umbrella stands to keep the flames hot and our burgers dry.  After we ring out our clothes and dry off we look forward to seeing everyone again in the fall! On May 5, 2019 NoVAGO invites to you lend a hand, picnic with friends, and celebrate the 2018 NoVAGO Cache Awards in Loudoun!
