GLONASS in phone GPS

When watching the information on the new Galaxy S3, they mentioned that the GPS would include GLONASS. Then I saw that the iPhone 4S does this as well. For those who have used it (the iPhone anyway, the S3 won't be out for a little while yet), do you find the GLONASS makes any improvement? I'm not going to base my decision to get the S3 solely on this, but a better GPS system would improve it in the standings.
